fundraiser for the Ventura Botanical

Gardens the fire burned right through

the 107 acre gardens above Ventura City

Hall it also burned the homes of many of

its donors although the garden is closed

to hikers buses shuttled supporters to a

tent at the top of the gardens for a

brunch today guests learn about ways to

help the Mediterranean plants in the

collection are doing better than others

but it will still take years for the

gardens to grow back while the Ventura

Botanic Gardens was deeply affected by

the Thomas fire last December

not just the landscape but many of the

people and the supporters of our

organization and so this event today is

just a way to update all of our

supporters on the progress we're making

in repairs from the fire and asking

people all to you support us as we move

forward with our master plan to build

the Botanic Gardens fundraisers say they

are naming opportunities and a new

entrance and a visitor center they hope
