Welcome Center Manager
The Ventura Botanical Gardens is seeking a qualified self-starting individual for this part-time paid position.
Pay is $18/hr.
The Welcome Center Manager has the following responsibilities:
Open and close the Welcome Center facility 3 days per week including alternate weekends.
Recruit, train, schedule, and manage volunteer Welcome Center Hosts.
Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment in the Welcome Center.
Greet visitors and provide timely and accurate information for guests and Hosts.
Process entry fees, membership sign-ups, and donations.
Assist with education and other events taking place in the Welcome Center and gardens.
Gift Shop Management
Purchase, price, display, and maintain gift shop sales item inventory.
Maintain point of sale system.
Assist shoppers with purchases as needed.
Ensure accurate cash handling procedures.
Develop appropriate processes and procedures.
Coordinate Welcome Center and gift shop activities with Executive Director and other VBG staff and volunteers.
Provide complete, accurate, and timely reports
Order and stock Welcome Center, gift shop, volunteer and membership supplies.

Description of Work: Basic grounds keeping, mulching, planting, weeding, etc.
Location of Work: Ventura Botanical Gardens 567 Poli St Ventura.
Hours/week: 20 hours per week, schedule is somewhat flexible.
Hours/month: 80 hours per month for 3 months.
Paid or Volunteer: paid, must be student, must be enrolled for next semester.
Hourly Wage: $12
